Saxlingham village is a quiet spot in the rural Norfolk, offering many miles of scenic walks and cycle rides direct from the property’s front door. In the neighbouring village of Langham, 1.5 miles from the property, the welcoming pub can be reached on foot or by car and is a great place to retreat to in the evening, either for dinner or just drinks. Head north from the village, some 5 miles, to reach the North Norfolk coast, with the shingle beach in the village of Cley-next-the-sea being the nearest beach to the property. For sandy beaches, there are wonderful places to explore in Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham, both of which are situated within 11 miles of the property.
Entering through the property’s heavy door which originates from the time when it was the village forge, guests come directly into the spacious open-plan living area with its impressive vaulted ceiling. Once inside this homely space guests can make themselves at home in the lounge area and unwind with a film on the TV/DVD, whilst enjoying the warming glow emanating from the wood burner. At the opposite end of the room, the kitchen area has a dining table seating four as well as an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. A door from the living area leads into a hallway, off from which guests will find the double bedroom, a cosy room with a dual-aspect windows. Next to the bedroom the bathroom offers a shower-over-bath and WC.
To the front of the cottage the garden is mainly set to lawn, as well as offering a pleasant patio seating area with garden furniture and views across the surrounding countryside. Parking can be found at the end of the cottage garden, created for guests private use.
